A: We’ve worked in TV commercials production for more than twenty years and have built a reputation for being trustworthy, honest and reliable. In this time we’ve nurtured excellent relationships with suppliers and equipment houses, casting directors, location libraries and crew, so we can give you the best and most cost effective experience on every shoot.
We’re resoureceful problem solvers and no job is too big or too small. We’re a safe set of hands for filming in the UK and our client feedback speaks for itself. Our process is transparent throughout, and we hold ourselves to account. Communication is clear and open, always.
Q: Can you find a suitable director?
A: Absolutely. We don’t have a permenent roster of directors at moremilk, but we do have an extensive network of independent directors with experience in every sector. So if you don’t have a director attached to your project, we can help you find one.
Q: Tell me about crew rates in the UK - how are they set?
A: Moremilk is a member of the Advertising Producer’s Association (APA) who sets the rates for freelance crew in advertising. A standard shoot day is 10 +1 hours (10 hours of filming and 1 hour for lunch). This is called a ‘straight day’. After these 11 hours, crew will charge overtime.
Saturday shoots are charged at 1.5x standard day rates and Sundays are 2x day rate. Don’t worry, though, we handle all of this and all crew costs are fully transparent in our budget proposals.
Q: Do you oversee post-production?
A: Yes, we can work oversee all aspects of production and post-production if required. We have excellent relationships with editors, graders, post audio and effects companies, and can deliver according to specs for any country, for TV or online. However, should you only need a shoot-only service from us, that’s fine too. We can transfer rushes and proxies during or after a shoot to give you a seamless transition into post-production.
Q: Do you take care of contracts and licensing?
A: Yes we can do this too. We’re experienced at negotiating buyouts with agents for on-screen and voice talent, as well as music licensing for both original and library tracks.
Q: Do you have a location library?
A: The UK has a broad range of unique filming locations with lots of hidden gems. We have excellent relationships with lots of amazing location libraries and location managers, meaning we can help you find the right UK location, whatever you need.
Q: What are your views when it comes to diversity?
A: We’re doing out bit to make our industry more diverse and inclusive. This can be as simple as looking in new places to find crew, and encouraging our heads of department to consider diversity when crewing their teams.
Social mobility is important to us too because working class representation in the UK advertising industry doesn’t reflect the UK as a whole. Through our partnerships with the Creative Mentor Network and London Screen Academy, we provide opportunities to people from underrepresented and disadvantaged groups, encouraging equality and diversity in our teams from the ground up. We’ve even established our own social mobility scheme - called XP1 - that we’re implementing on our shoots.
Q: Do you collaborate with UK based brands or solely with overseas companies?
A: We definitely work with UK brands too. We’re happy to work with companies in the UK and abroad.
